Senior Interior Design Director

We are looking for a Senior Interior Design Director who will be responsible for leading and managing our new set-up corporate interiors team. We working closely with corporate business partners and building owners to improve the outcomes of construction, remodeling and interior fit-out projects. This is an experienced interior designer who is client facing with the ability to provide oversight on project and manage teams. This individual will also provide guidance and design direction to our design teams and has significant years of experience in corporate interiors. Essential.


Duties and Responsibilities:

> Generates and develops overall interior design concepts; formulates design presentation strategies and makes presentations.

> Manages interior design process for entire project consistent with project’s program, budget and time constraints; leads/directs the work of other interior designers and technical staff.

> Estimate material requirements and costs, and present design to client for approval, as well as manages project budget and schedules related to interior design team efforts.

> Confer with client to determine factors affecting planning interior environments, such as budget, architectural preferences, and purpose and function.

> Advise client on interior design factors, such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, and color coordination.

> Select or design, and purchase furnishings, art works, and accessories.

> Formulate plan to be practical, esthetic, and conducive to intended purposes, such as raising productivity or selling merchandise.

> Subcontract fabrication, installation, and arrangement of carpeting, fixtures, accessories, draperies, paint and wall coverings, artwork, furniture, and related items.

> Leads/coordinates color/material selection, interior construction administration and installation.

> Negotiates contracts with clients as appropriate; may assist in the selection of consultants and negotiates fee and contract arrangements.

> Participates in business development activities as needed.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

> Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, in Interior Design.

> 10-15 years of experience as a professional corporate interior designer including prior project designer responsibilities.

> Minimum five years of previous supervisory and personnel management.

> The ability to be client facing and be able to pitch jobs.

> Responsible for assisting with hiring and mentoring a staff of designers.

> Demonstrated ability to effectively create presentations and communicate concepts to clients and associates using various software applications, i.e. 3D.

> Must be creative with a keen eye for details.

> Must have strong knowledge of Auto CAD, hand sketching ability preferred, and Construction Drawing.

> Advanced knowledge of finish materials and standards.

> Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.

> Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and with strong attention to detail.

> Ability to consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined.

> Ability to work with integrity, trust and commitment, setting an example for others.

> Must be able to communicate in English and Mandarin.
